Update on Season

The team started of the season playing away at Medfield, and the result was promising. Although the girls lost 3-0, they showed a huge improvement from the previous season. The girls stayed together through every point and were always trying their hardest, even when they were losing. This first game showed hope that the rest of the season would be a success. Next, the Lancers entertained Wayland in an out of league game. The girls played great volleyball and won the first two games. However, Wayland came back to win the next two games, forcing a fifth and deciding game. The team was able to pull through for the victory, winning the fifth game 15-5. The Lancers then lost 3-0 to Hopkington and Ashland in their next two games. After traveling to Wayland to play them for the second time, the girls came home with a tough 3-2 loss, despite their best efforts. The girls had high expectations going into their next game away at Millis, but unfortunately fell short. After losing the first two matches, mainly because of missed serves, the Lancers came back to win the third game 25-23. The fourth game was a back and forth battle between the two teams, but Millis pulled through for the victory, winning 28-26. The team then lost a tough 3-0 game against Holliston. After the loss against Holliston, the Lancers came back for a victory against Westwood. They fell the first game, but came back to win the second game 25-19. They then proceeded to lose the third game 28-26, but won the fourth game 25-18, sending it into a fifth game. After a tough battle, the Lancers won the match 15-12 to take the game. The girls then lost another tough game against Foxboro. The season overall has been a success for the Lancers, although the record does not show their success. They have great expectations for the rest of the season, and hope to win their next games and make it to the state tournament.
